All the aggression is in the brow.
The Diamond-Cut Gorilla Face Rectangular Pendant is a rounded-corner plate built around a recess. A polished rim runs the face, the plate drops away behind it, and the whole back wall of that well is cut into a diamond-cut sunburst — fine rays running from behind the head out to every edge.
The gorilla sits at the centre in a fine satin, cropped to the head. The carving puts its weight where a silverback's does: a heavy shelf of brow ridge furrowed deep above small, close-set eyes, then a broad flat nose with wide nostrils and a hard downturned mouth. The expression is not snarling — it is the flat, level stare that reads as far more dangerous.
The fur is cut as directional strands rather than texture, following the growth across the crown, out over the cheeks and down into the beard, so it catches light differently depending on where you stand.
Turn the piece and the edge is worked too — the side band carries a repeating chevron pattern cut all the way round. Most plates leave that surface plain; this one does not.
A tapered polished bail sits above with a 5mm opening.
Why You’ll Love It:
-
Diamond-Cut Ray Field – A hand-cut sunburst filling the recess behind the head
-
Satin Against Bright – The face left matte so it reads clearly off a moving ground
-
Directional Fur – Strands cut to follow the growth across crown, cheeks and beard
-
Worked Edge Band – Chevron pattern cut around the sides, not just the face
-
Solid Gold Throughout – No stones and no plating
At 44 grams in 18K across 1.75”, the Diamond-Cut Gorilla Face Rectangular Pendant carries real density for its footprint.
