Two finished faces, and no back.
The Double-Sided Jesus & Virgin Mary Diamond Oval Pendant is carved on both sides, so there is no reverse to hide. One face carries the Holy Face of Jesus in high relief — head inclined, hair and beard cut strand by strand, the crown of thorns picked out in hand-set diamonds so the stones fall where the thorns sit rather than around them. The other face carries the Virgin Mary in profile, veiled, head bowed and hands brought together in prayer, with a pavé halo arc rising behind her.
Both figures are left in satin gold and sit on a fluted sunburst ground radiating out to the frame, engraved in contrasting polished metal so the light reads as coming from behind the figure. Each face is then framed by a double row of pavé following the full oval, and the bail is set in two rows of its own, so the diamond line is unbroken from one side of the piece to the other.
At 27g in 18K with 203 stones across a 1.5" oval, this is a dense piece for its size — the weight is in the two carved faces rather than in the outline.
