The Custom Jade Lady Buddha (Guan Yin) Round and Baguette Diamond Wrap Pendant is built around a carved jade plaque — Guan Yin standing on a lotus with a vase held at her side, the robes cut in low relief and falling to the base. The stone is pale, close to white, with soft green drifting through the lower right and again at the shoulder. It is a single piece of stone, 2.35" tall, and its outline is irregular: the edge waves in and out rather than running straight.
The gold follows that outline exactly. Rather than dropping the plaque into a plain oval, the frame is cut to the stone’s own scalloped silhouette and wraps around its full edge, front to back, so the jade is held all the way round instead of clipped at four points. That is where the piece takes its time: every wave in the stone had to be matched in metal.
Two settings, doing two different jobs. A single row of round brilliants runs the entire perimeter, riding every curve of the scalloped edge. Above the head sits a second element — a pointed arch filled with channel-set baguettes, outlined in its own row of rounds, standing clear of the frame like a mandorla. The baguettes give a clean straight-line halo against all those curves, and they are the only straight lines on the front of the piece.
The back is not a blank plate. It is polished gold, pierced with lotus openwork at the top and bottom — layered petals cut clean through, so the jade shows behind them and light reaches the stone from the back. Between the two lotus panels sits a finely engraved ox head, horns swept wide, worked in fine line and stipple.
Every stone is its own. The jade is carved, not moulded, and each plaque is cut from a different piece of stone. Colour, the drift of green and the fall of the robes will differ from the one photographed — that variation is the nature of the material, not a fault.

This one is made as a custom piece. Everything on it can be changed. The front — the carving, the stone itself, the shape of the frame and how much of it is set. The side — the depth of the wrap and the openwork cut into its edge. And the back — the lotus panels and the engraved ox, which can be any figure, a zodiac animal, initials or a date instead. The bail is a two-row pavé loop on a plain polished post, with an 8.5mm opening — wide enough for a heavy Cuban or a rope.
At 3.25" overall with the bail, this is a full-length piece, and the weight sits where a plaque pendant should: spread across the frame rather than hanging off one point.
