The Rectangle Dragon Pendant is a heavy rounded-corner plate — 51.5mm by 32.2mm, and 127.6g in 24K. That weight across that footprint means real thickness; this is a slab, and it hangs like one.
The dragon is carved in high relief across the full face. Horned head at the upper left with the jaw open and whiskers trailing back, the scaled body turning down through the centre, clawed feet spread, and the tail sweeping into the lower right. Cloud scrollwork fills the upper margin and a band of rolling waves closes the foot, so the dragon reads as moving between sky and sea rather than floating on a blank plate.
The bail is the detail worth pointing out: a tall tapered band worked all over in fish-scale texture, matching the dragon’s body. Most makers put a plain loop on a piece like this. Continuing the scales up into the fitting is what makes it read as one object.
The reverse carries a single raised Chinese character set in its own panel — an unusual finish on a piece this heavy, and the reason the back is worth turning over.
Everything is satin, which on a slab this size is the right call: a mirror finish across 51mm would throw so much light the carving would vanish.
