The Saint Michael Oval Pendant is built as a true medal: a raised polished rim runs the full oval and the field drops away inside it, so the scene sits protected below the outer edge rather than standing proud where it can catch.
Inside that rim the relief is deep. Michael stands with his weight forward and both wings thrown open to the full width of the oval — every flight feather cut separately — in Roman-style armour with the skirt of straps beneath the cuirass. His right arm drives a spear downward; his hair is worked in loose curls; his face is turned in profile toward the strike.
Beneath his feet the dragon is already beaten — head down at the lower right with the jaw open, one wing folded under, the tail coiling back across the bottom of the field. The two figures fill the oval edge to edge with no empty ground anywhere.
The finish is a soft satin across the whole scene with the rim left bright, which is what keeps the detail readable at this size. The reverse is plain and polished smooth — flat enough to engrave if you want a date or initials on it.
At 22.3mm by 16.3mm it sits under an inch tall. Michael is the archangel of the militant tradition — the one who leads the host and is invoked by police officers, soldiers, and anyone whose work puts them between other people and harm. He is asked for protection rather than intercession.
