The Skull and Snake Pendant is carved fully in the round — not a face raised off a plate, but a whole skull with real depth front to back, and a snake wound over and through it.
The anatomy is taken seriously. Deep empty orbits, a sharp inverted-teardrop nasal aperture, heavy cheekbones with the temporal lines cut in behind them, and a full set of teeth top and bottom. Across the top of the cranium runs a carved suture line, the seam where the skull plates meet — a detail almost nothing at this size bothers with, and the thing that separates a real skull from a cartoon one.
The snake comes over the crown from one side and lays its head flat on the brow, looking straight out between the eye sockets. Its body wraps down the side of the skull, loops out clear in front of the jaw, and the tail curls free below the chin.
Every scale is cut individually — fine imbricated scales across the back, banded scutes underneath — and the snake's eye is set with a small red stone, the only colour anywhere on the piece.
The finish is satin almost throughout, which is the right call: bone should not shine. Light catches the scale edges and the teeth and nothing else fights for attention.
The pendant is hollow with a solid back, which is what keeps a 2.25” skull at a weight you can actually wear.
