The Cross Pendant is a plain Latin cross in flat bar stock — no corpus, no engraving, no texture, no bevel. Every face is flat, every edge is cut square, and the whole thing is finished in a full mirror polish, which is unusual for us: almost everything else in the catalogue is satin somewhere.
That finish is the reason this piece is harder to make than it looks. On a satin surface a slight wave or a soft edge disappears. On a mirror this size — 44.3mm tall, the largest cross format we build — every flat has to actually be flat, because the reflection shows you immediately if it isn’t. The arms have to sit at a true right angle and the edges have to run dead straight for the length of them.
The proportions are drawn long: the lower arm runs roughly twice the length of the upper, with the crossbar set high. That is the classical Latin proportion rather than the squarer modern one, and it is what makes the piece read as tall rather than wide on the chest.
It carries 17.4g in 18K and takes a chain up to 4.5mm — the heaviest chain fit in this group, which is what a cross this size needs to hang square instead of tipping.
