About Us

Matthew The Jeweler is a Los Angeles–based, family-owned jewelry house rooted in craftsmanship, transparency, and decades of experience.

Founded on a legacy that began in 1980, Matthew Ta represents the next generation of a family deeply embedded in the jewelry industry. His parents established their own shop in 1988, building a reputation through skill, consistency, and long-term relationships within the Los Angeles community. Today, that same foundation continues — refined for a modern clientele.

Operating out of Chinatown, Los Angeles, Matthew The Jeweler remains family-owned and operated, with every piece handled through a fully in-house process. From sourcing and design to production and finishing, nothing is outsourced. This level of control ensures precision, accountability, and a standard of quality that cannot be replicated through mass production.

The brand specializes in custom jewelry and luxury watches, serving both everyday buyers and high-net-worth clients who value clarity, craftsmanship, and intentional design. Matthew The Jeweler has worked with globally-famed artist Usher, NFL wide-receiver Jaydon Mickens, internet influencer Bretman Rock, Los Angeles-born rapper Dom Kennedy, influential American music producer DJ Mustard, rising stars of 88rising, like Rich Brian, Niki, and Joji, American R&B singer Charlie Wilson, American television personality Steelo Brim, highly versatile American comedian, actor, singer, and television personality Wayne Brady, and many more notable individuals.

Each piece is approached with the understanding that jewelry is not only about appearance, but also about structure, material integrity, and long-term value. Matthew The Jeweler integrates the latest technology in modern jewelry manufacturing to achieve this standard. From CAD/CAM design to laser welding and precision laser engraving, advanced tools are used to produce highly accurate, consistent, and refined work.

This technical capability is paired with a disciplined approach to craftsmanship. Every stage of production is carefully defined and controlled to ensure consistency across every piece. Processes are continuously evaluated and improved with each failure analyzed at its root cause and translated into stronger methods, tighter controls, and better outcomes.

The result is a level of quality that is not left to chance, but built through intention and repetition.

At the same time, the brand takes pride in maintaining competitive pricing without compromising craftsmanship, allowing clients to access high-quality, custom work with a clear understanding of what they are paying for.

Unlike traditional retail environments where pricing and process can feel opaque, Matthew The Jeweler operates on a different philosophy:
clients should understand exactly what they are buying, and why it holds value.

This includes:

  • Clear insight into materials, gold purity, and construction
  • Honest conversations around pricing and market value
  • A focus on pieces designed to last — both structurally and stylistically

Over time, this approach has built a loyal and growing client base that prioritizes trust over trends and substance over perception.

At its core, Matthew The Jeweler is more than a storefront; it is a continuation of a family legacy, elevated through modern technology, in-house craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
