The "21" Diamond Pendant is a numeral pendant cut in a bold slab form — heavy strokes, flat terminals, the kind of numbers you see on a jersey back rather than in a typeface. The 2 is drawn with a wide open curve and a straight foot; the 1 carries a full flag at the top and a broad base, so the pair sits square rather than leaning.
The whole face is set. Every stroke of both digits is filled with micro-pavé laid in rows that follow the direction of the stroke — the rows curve around the bowl of the 2 and run straight down the stem of the 1, so the stonework reads as the shape rather than as a grid dropped on top of it. At 1.35tcw across 140 stones there is no bare field anywhere on the front.
What holds it together is the polished gold rim. A fine raised wall traces the full outline of each digit and the inner cut-outs, separating the pavé from the air around it. Without that edge a fully set numeral loses its shape at arm’s length; with it, the 21 stays legible.
The two digits are joined where they meet, so the piece hangs as one unit and the weight sits evenly on the bail.
