The "84" Diamond Pendant is cut in bubble numerals — fat rounded digits with no straight lines anywhere, the strokes swelling out at the shoulders and pinching where they meet. At 70mm across, they fill the whole width of a chest.
The faces are domed, not flat. Each digit swells outward from its edges to a high point in the middle, and the pavé is set following that curve — the rows bend over the dome rather than sitting on a plane, so the light rolls across the face as the piece moves instead of flashing all at once. That is the difference between a bubble letter and a flat one, and it is why the setting on a domed face takes longer.
Then it drips. Gold runs down off the bottom edge of both digits in a row of separate tendrils, thick at the top where they leave the numeral and swelling to a rounded bead at the tip, each one hanging at a different length. Every drip is set along its full length, right down to the bead, which is the detail that is easy to miss and expensive to do.
The counters — both loops of the 8 and the triangle of the 4 — are cut clean through and edged so they stay legible inside all that brightness.
