The Diamond Virgin Mary Rectangular Pendant puts every diamond in one place. A single arc of hand-set pavé traces the halo behind the Madonna’s head — and that is the whole stone setting. Nothing else on the piece carries a diamond, which is what makes the halo the first thing you see.
The border is left completely plain: a polished outer rail stepping down to a polished inner bevel, no stones, no engraving and no texture on either. It reads as a picture frame, and it is there to hold the scene rather than compete with it.
Inside it, the Virgin is carved in low relief and left in soft satin, turned in profile with her head bowed and her hands brought together in prayer around a rosary. The veil falls in long carved folds across the shoulder and down the mantle, and lilies and open roses are cut into the lower corner beside her. The field behind is finished smooth so the satin figure lifts cleanly off it.
The bail is a wide flat polished band, plain like the frame, and takes a chain up to 6mm.
At 55g in 18K across a 2" plate, this is a heavy, quiet piece — the mass is in the solid frame and the carved panel, not in the stone count.
