The "EK" Diamond Pendant is two block capitals carried at full depth, and the depth is the point. The side walls are set as well as the face — the full thickness of both letters is pavé, so the piece keeps throwing light when it swings, when it lies flat, and when you see it edge-on.
The face is flooded in micro-pavé, laid in tight rows across every arm and stem with no bare field anywhere. The only gold you see on the front is the fine raised line that traces each letter’s outline and its counters — the bar recesses of the E, the junction of the K — and those lines are what keep the two letters legible inside the brightness. Without them this would read as one glittering slab.
The letters overlap where they meet, the E’s arms running into the K’s stem, so the pair hangs as a single unit.
The letterforms are heavy block capitals, square-cut, with clipped corners and spurred terminals — a face built for size rather than for elegance.
