The Jerusalem Cross Circular Pendant carries the full five-fold cross: a large cross potent at the centre, its four arms closed with crossbars, and a small Greek cross set into each quadrant. It is one of the oldest arrangements in Christian heraldry, and the piece renders it at proper weight rather than as an outline.
The whole design sits in polished relief against a matte recessed ground, so the cross and the quadrant crosses lift clearly off the field without any need for stones or plating to separate them. Around and behind them, the quadrants are filled with flowing openwork scrollwork — arabesque tendrils that curl back on themselves and fill the space between the arms, each one cut and finished by hand.
A raised circular rim closes the composition, giving the medallion the look of a struck seal rather than a stamped disc, and the whole face reads cleanly at 24mm.
The bail is a plain tapered band, left polished, and takes a chain up to 3mm.
