The Partially Iced Diamond Jesus Pendant works on one decision: where the stones stop. The face is high-polished solid gold and carries no diamonds at all — brow, nose, cheekbones, lips and throat all modeled in clean metal — while the hair, beard and bail are fully pavé-set. The contrast is what gives the piece its depth; an all-over setting would flatten the sculpting the face is built on.
The crown of thorns is a braided rope band worked across the brow in satin gold, twisted strand over strand and deliberately left unset, so there are three finishes on the piece and only one of them carries stones. Above it, a pavé arc follows the crest of the head.
The hair falls in two long panels either side of the face, set in rows of round brilliants that run with the fall of the hair rather than across it, and the beard and moustache are set as one dense pavé field around the polished lips. A single diamond is set into each eye as the iris, which is the detail that carries the whole expression.
The piece is solid throughout — not a solid front with a hollow back. At 42g in 22K across a 1.5" face with 395 stones, the weight is real metal, and it hangs from a multi-row pavé bail that takes a chain up to 4mm.
