The Three-Headed Buddha Pendant is the sculptural version — a crowned head carved in the round, hollow-built with a solid back plate, so it wears at 2.25” without the weight a solid casting of that size would carry.
The front face is left in high mirror polish: open eyes with the lids and pupils cut in, a straight nose, and a faint smile. A face in profile turns out to either side of it, polished to match, so the piece looks in three directions.
Everything around them is satin. A tall tiered crown rises above the brow, each register worked with its own beading and scrollwork and stepping back to a point; long ear ornaments with pendant drops fall past the jaw; and a band of pointed petal forms set with beads runs across the base like a collar. The finish split is the whole design — bright where the skin is, matte everywhere else.
The back is a solid plate cut to the same silhouette and engraved with the full composition in line — crown, faces, ear drops and collar all drawn out in satin and polish. It is a flat graphic of the front rather than a blank, which is not something you usually get on a hollow piece.
